Center for Community Health, Education & Research (CCHER)

CCHER has more than 24 years of advocacy for the right to health care and providing direct social, health, behavioral and prevention services to our clients and their families.
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and its Racial Ethnic Approaches to Community Health division is responsible for supporting the Haitian diabetes initiative. CCHER is advocating and promoting systemic changes for healthy community. Funded community and faith-based organizations are working together with CCHER by taking actions to bring diabetes awareness and wellness changes to members of the larger Haitian community and their faith. Likewise, CCHER is facilitating training workshop for mental health providers to serve better the needs of Haitian Diabetics diagnosed with anxiety and depression.

GREAT NEWS
REACH US: WE CARE and CHANGED Diabetes Curricula have been translated in Haitian with the support of Massachusetts Dept of Public Health.
CCHER is pleased to work together with NOVO NORDISK Community Care to sponsor a program entitled "The Road to Healthy Living". The purpose of the program is to decrease diabetes related complications among Haitians living with diabetes.
We are pleased to inform the community and our clients that CCHER was a recipient of a grant from the City of Boston, Department of Neighborhood Development to renovate existing structure of our building.
